Feedback from final video

It was agreed that our music video suited the backpacker, old school hip hop genre, a bit like Pharcyde.
Our target audience was said to be older teenagers and fans of hip hop in general. It was most likely be put on MTV Base, as that's generally a hip hop channel and shows a lot of old school hip hop videos.
The class liked all the different angles and locations in our video. There was also a number of individual shots of each member which was applauded by the rest of the group as it was a clear indicator of what our roles were in the group.
Our editing received positive feedback, as people liked the reverse clip we had of Mark jumping around and the close up of the feet moving side to side during the chorus.
Our mise-en-scene received the most positive feedback as we had a lot of different shots and locations, such as the regal, down numerous roads and the Travelodge

Group Targets (after feedback)

1) More band research

2) Think about costumes and gear

3) Link the animatics to the test footage

We will aim to accomplish these goals within the next few lessons and use them to improve our video and blog

''info about song is original''

''location shots are good''

'' the test footage shows good use of editing and performer ideas''

''Test footage is really cool lots of good editing which is effective ''

Pitch for new track - Blackalicious - side to side

For our new music video idea we have changed our previous pitch idea due to the fact that we had to change our initial track as we had another group who are using the same previous track.

We selected a track from Blackalicious called "side to side" which mainly emphasises the behaviour of 3 rappers towards females and the hip hop community.

Our initial ideas include using a club to illustrate the narrative the track portrays and several other locations to meet the needs of the track. We feel as a group that the track is fairly up-tempo and has an element of fun attached to it, therefore we will bring this to the table when compiling ideas and shots. We also wish to make the video stereotypical in terms of the hip hop genre and association linked to previous productions made. We will do this by stylistically incorporating ideas used before with a funky twist added.

Test Footage

This video is not exactly what we wanted to capture , but it does display some key Fx that we may include in our final piece also some ideas may be incorporated as they to touch upon some themes that could maybe used. it has no narrative but gives a feel as it ties in with the audio track
